Healing Beyond Words

According to the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, 70% of U.S adults have experienced some type of trauma or traumatic event in their lives.

The three

At its simplest level, trauma is not an event itself, but rather the lasting emotional and physiological footprint left behind.

Talk therapy uses the logical, thinking part of your brain to analyze the event. You can put your experience into words, but knowing what happened doesn’t stop the body from reacting. You can understand and validate why you feel the way you do, which can be healing, but it doesn’t rewire the nervous system. It can provide coping skills to manage symptoms, but it often fails to delete the physiological response.

Trauma changes the baseline of your nervous system. The effect is stored in parts of your brain that do not speak in words- they speak in sensations, heart rates, and muscle tension. Your internal alarm system is not directly connected to the language centers of the brain. This is why you can spend years talking about trauma and still experience the effect (panic attacks, shut-down, hypervigilance).

Our trauma-informed approaches are designed to address the unique way trauma reshapes the brain and nervous system.

Our Services

ZYTO EVOX (Perception Reframing)

Your voice carries the "signature" of your emotional history. When we experience trauma or chronic stress, our perceptions can become static—stuck in survival patterns that keep us repeating the same emotional loops.

EVOX is a non-invasive biofeedback technology designed to help you "see" and shift these subconscious patterns. By mapping the frequencies in your voice as you speak about a specific topic (relationships, health, or past events), EVOX identifies where emotional energy is blocked. It then feeds back balancing frequencies to your nervous system, helping you move from a state of "stuckness" into a more expansive, healed perspective.

Healing is a process of unfolding. Because EVOX works at a subconscious level to clear old "blocks," it is very common for your internal landscape to shift in the days following a session.

As one emotional layer is cleared, your system may naturally bring up other traumas, attachments, or associations that were previously hidden or dormant. You might find yourself:

  • Recalling memories you hadn’t thought of in years.
  • Noticing new connections between current behaviors and past experiences.
  • Experiencing a temporary "emotional detox" as your nervous system recalibrates.

This is a normal and healthy sign that your mind is reorganizing. These new associations aren't "setbacks"—they are the next layers ready to be witnessed and healed. We encourage you to approach these shifts with gentleness and curiosity, knowing that we are here to support you as each new piece of your story comes to light.

Benefits of EVOX

  • Addresses deep-seated layers without requiring you to relive every detail of your story.
  • Releasing Survival Loops: Gently shifts the "stuck" perceptions that fuel anxiety, fear, and self-criticism.
  • Healing Inherited Patterns: Addresses emotional themes passed down through generations.
  • Regulating the Nervous System: Helps move the body out of a constant "fight-or-flight" state.
  • Enhanced Emotional Resilience: Provides a clearer mental space to make healthy, empowered choices.

Flash EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

The Flash EMDR technique is a revolutionary advancement in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. This technique allows you to process traumatic memories without having to consciously relive the distress. You only “check in” on the memory for a fraction of a second. The majority of the session is spent focusing on a Positive Engaging Focus - which makes you feel happy, safe, or calm. It is a gentle, fast-acting way to reduce the intensity of painful memories while keeping you feeling grounded and safe. You don’t have to describe the details of the event or feel the full weight of the pain to heal from it.

In traditional EMDR, you are asked to consciously hold the traumatic memory in your mind and briefly relive or visit your distress in the process. The goal is to desensitize the memory until it no longer triggers a physical reaction. For many people, it can be emotionally exhausting and heavy because the focus is on the trauma itself.

The Flash technique allows for gentle subconscious processing instead of desensitization through intense focus.

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) & Thought Field Therapy (TFT)

Often described as "psychological acupuncture," EFT and TFT are powerful tools that bridge the gap between the mind and the body. While traditional therapy focuses on the "talk," these modalities focus on the energy. By tapping on specific meridian points on the body, we can physically signal the brain’s alarm system to stand down.

When you are triggered, your body is having a physical reaction that "logic" cannot stop.

Tapping works because it:

  • Interrupts the Stress Response: It physically breaks the link between a memory and the "fight-or-flight" reaction.
  • Provides Immediate Regulation: It gives you a tangible tool you can use anywhere to lower your anxiety in real-time.
  • Clears the "Effect": By addressing the energy blockages at the source, it helps the "Effect" of trauma fade away, leaving you feeling grounded and in control.

Thought Field Therapy (TFT)

Developed by Dr. Roger Callahan, TFT is the foundation of energy psychology. It works on the principle that emotional distress is caused by a "perturbation" or a blockage in the body’s energy field.

  • How it Works: We use specific "algorithms"—precise tapping sequences tailored to the exact emotion you are feeling, whether it’s phobia, grief, or trauma.
  • The Result: It works like a digital code to "unplug" the specific emotional trigger, often providing relief in minutes.

Parts-Work Modalities - Internal Family Systems

Each part of you has its own perspectives, feelings, and memories. Trauma often causes these parts to get stuck in extreme roles to protect you. At the center of all these parts is the self. The part that is never damaged by the trauma. The goal of parts work is not to get rid of the parts of you that grew to survive, but to help those parts trust the Self to lead.

Traditional therapy can at times treat symptoms like “anger” or “anxiety as things to be suppressed, when these parts can in fact be protective messengers. Instead of fighting your inner critic, we get curious about it. We ask, “What is this part afraid would happen if it stopped criticizing you?” We can provide a safe space for those protective parts to stand down and help release the burden of the trauma that parts of you have carried. Your internal system can retire some of these extreme roles and integrate into a healthier self.

Parts work is trauma-informed because it can address internal conflict. It helps you understand why one part of you wants to heal while other parts sabotage your progress. It removes the shame from “bad” behaviors by recognizing them as “protective” strategies that simply haven’t realized the trauma is over.

Parts work can be utilized in all of our trauma-informed treatments.

The Bottom Line on Trauma

The most important thing to understand is this: There is nothing "wrong" with you. Trauma is not a character flaw or a permanent brokenness; it is a physiological response to an overwhelming experience that happened to you. You are not "sensitive" or "weak"—your nervous system is simply stuck in a survival loop. The symptoms you struggle with today—the anxiety, the shut-down, the hyper-vigilance—were once brilliant strategies your body used to keep you alive. You did exactly what you needed to do to survive.

But while survival was the goal then, thriving is the goal now. We don't just help you manage your symptoms; we use tools and strategies to signal to your nervous system that the threat has passed. We help you move out of "survival mode" and into a life of peace, presence, and genuine connection.

You’ve done the hard work of surviving. Now, let us help you THRIVE.

Our goal is to provide a sanctuary to acknowledge your trauma and allow your body and mind to finally find rest. Whether you are dealing with a single traumatic event or the heavy weight of chronic stress, we offer the specialized tools to help you reclaim your peace and move forward with gentle strength.
